    Chapter 25: Unruly Girl (1)

Li Weiyi opened her eyes and found herself in a small classroom, with only one person beside her. The person was sleeping with her head resting on her shoulder.

She had one arm under her head, and the other hand… was wrapped around the person’s shoulder.

The person looked up, revealing a stunningly beautiful face, and tried to snuggle closer to her: “Ah Chan, didn’t you sleep well last night? You suddenly fell asleep.”

Li Weiyi was startled and pushed her away, thinking, “It isn’t that I didn’t sleep well; it’s that your real boyfriend is going to hang up the moment I arrive.”

She grabbed her bag and tried to run away.

Cheng Ruiyan pouted, “Where are you going? You promised to tutor me in advanced calculus; the exam’s next week!”

Li Weiyi forced a smile. “I suddenly remembered something urgent, so why don’t you… just study on your own! Where there’s a will, there’s a way, baby; you can do it. Good luck!” Without waiting for a response, she fled the classroom.

Only after running out of the teaching building and finding no one chasing her did Li Weiyi finally catch her breath, a surge of joy welling up inside her—she was back!

She glanced at her phone, stunned. No way.

    March 11, 2014.

Two whole months had passed since her last time travel.

The passage of time in the two places was unequal.

Li Weiyi immediately called Zhang Moyun, but there was no answer. She then called Wu Xinhui, learning that her businessman father was on a business trip in Shanghai.

Li Weiyi decided to go to her sister’s place first, then she’d go to Shanghai to find Zhang Moyun to work on the proposal.

She reached for the Ferrari keys in her pocket and quickly spotted the bright red car parked not far away. She called the driver: “Li Yunmo, where are you?”

Li Yunmo: “Just finished class, what’s up?”

“Do you have class again this morning?”

    “No.”

“Perfect, come to the parking lot.”

    “Okay!”

After two months of not being allowed to sit in the driver’s seat again, Li Yunmo was flattered: “You are really letting me drive?”

    “I’m dizzy again; drive.”

“Should we go to the hospital?” Li Yunmo asked, his face beaming, though he sounded concerned. “Or should we go home and rest?”

    “To Li Weiyi’s house.”

Li Yunmo almost stepped on the gas, saying, “Brother Chan, don’t play with my feelings. What did you say when I asked you if you were still going to Li’s house?”

    “What did I say?”

Li Yunmo said irritably, “You asked me who Li Weiyi is? You said you didn’t know her, and you even said I was bored and beat me up!”

Li Weiyi chuckled and said, “Oh… back then, I was determined to be devoted to your sister-in-law, so I wouldn’t admit it. But these past two months, every time I dream about her in the middle of the night, I find I still can’t let go of your second sister-in-law. Hurry up and drive; stop talking nonsense.”

    Li Yunmo: “…”

He drove diligently for a while, then asked, “What about Cheng Ruiyan? I’ve seen you two doing quite well lately.”

Li Weiyi didn’t even look up: “What do you mean, ‘what about’? I’m so outstanding and handsome; can’t I have two girlfriends, each with their own unique charm?”

Li Yunmo was completely speechless. He turned his head and saw his Brother Chan, pulling out a small piece of paper from somewhere and writing a string of numbers on it.

“Brother Chan, what are you writing?”

“Nothing.” Li Weiyi quickly folded the paper and stuffed it into her pocket.

Just then, Zhang Jingchan’s phone rang. Li Weiyi glanced at it; it was an unfamiliar landline. Thinking it best to avoid trouble, she figured it was probably a sales call and hung up immediately.

But the caller persisted, calling three or four more times.

    Li Weiyi finally answered, “Hello?”

A sweet, childlike voice, but with a deep tone, came through: “Hello.”

    Li Weiyi: “Who is it?”

    The girl asked, “Li Weiyi?”

Li Weiyi answered crisply, “It’s me.” Suddenly, her eyes widened: “You, you…”

The other person said, “I’m Zhang Jingchan.”

Li Weiyi sat up straight: “You are here too!”

Li Yunmo glanced at her. Brother Chan was acting strangely today, unusually lively and outgoing, just like two months ago. Was this intermittent?

“Yes, I’m inside your body.” Zhang Jingchan’s voice was a little muffled, seemingly not overjoyed by this miracle.

But Li Weiyi was delighted: “See? See? I didn’t lie to you!”

    “Where are you?”

“I just woke up half an hour ago, and I’m driving to the Li family’s house.”

    “Come pick me up first.”

Li Weiyi: “Okay, where are you?”

“At school. I’m calling you from the convenience store. I’ve already asked my teacher for sick leave. Buy me a cell phone on the way here so we can stay in touch. Use my credit card.”

Li Weiyi: “But I don’t know your credit card PIN. Should I give it to you later?”

“Don’t waste your time. There are cell phone shops on your way. Credit cards don’t have PINs.”

After hanging up, Li Weiyi took out her wallet and found a black memory card and a black credit card.

Zhang Jingchan, at 19, possessed the legendary black card, and without a PIN.

Was this the life of the rich, where spending money was limitless?

Seeing his Brother Chan buy that high school girl the latest model cell phone without batting an eye, Li Yunmo’s heart was numb.

And so it began again. Compared to the last time he went to someone’s house to fawn over them, a cell phone was nothing.

The two drove to the back gate of the city’s No. 1 High School and saw a girl in a school uniform standing by the roadside.

Li Yunmo had only caught a glimpse of Li Weiyi lying on the bed from afar last time. Now, looking at the girl, she was short, with short, jet-black hair, a small face still with baby fat, fair and tender, with bright, watery eyes.

While not a stunning beauty like Cheng Ruiyan, she was still very pretty, the sweet and cute type.

Li Yunmo whistled softly and said, “Brother Chan, you have good taste! My second sister-in-law looks pretty good, too.”

“Of course!” Li Weiyi leaned against the car window, looking at her 17-year-old self, and couldn’t help but sigh. Teenage skin was incomparable; it was glowing white, pink, tender, and delicate.

This “self,” however, stood like a small white poplar tree, a backpack casually slung over one shoulder, the other hand in her pocket, her face stern.

The girl walked over with incredibly steady steps; despite her petite stature, she exuded an aura of power and confidence.

Li Yunmo whispered, “Second sister-in-law is kind of cool.”

    Li Weiyi also whispered, “Yeah…”

Zhang Jingchan walked to the car, first glancing at Li Weiyi, whose 1.82-meter frame looked like a giant worm when she was crouching down. Zhang Jingchan then looked at Li Yunmo, whose head was close to hers, and raised her chin: “What’s he doing here?”

    Li Weiyi: “Well… I couldn’t drive; I told you.”

Zhang Jingchan hummed in agreement and said, “Li Yunmo, you go back first.” Then she looked at Li Weiyi: “You come with me.”

Li Yunmo never expected that his sister-in-law would bypass his Brother Chan and start arranging things for him. Even in front of a high school student, he still had his pride, so he immediately said, “Brother Chan, really? I just brought you here.” He then smiled at Zhang Jingchan and said, “Sister-in-law, my Brother Chan isn’t the type to prioritize women over friends.” Li Yunmo was confident in this; his Brother Chan had never casually dismissed his brothers because of women.

Zhang Jingchan looked at him and smiled. This brief smile revealed a rare softness. Li Weiyi then understood—he was actually happy to see Li Yunmo.

Zhang Jingchan then asked Li Weiyi, “Did you tell him?”

Li Weiyi: “No, should I? It’ll be another helper.”

Zhang Jingchan: “Forget it, his comprehension is limited; don’t waste time.”

    Li Yunmo: …

No, he didn’t understand, but he felt deeply insulted.

Upon hearing the mention of time constraints, Li Weiyi immediately told Li Yunmo, “He and I have things to do. You should take a taxi back. I’ll contact you if I need anything.”

Li Yunmo looked at her incredulously: “Brother Chan, am I just a tool in your eyes?”

Zhang Jingchan, standing beside the car, scoffed and said, “More or less.” Li Weiyi rolled her eyes at Zhang Jingchan and forcefully pressed down on Li Yunmo’s shoulder: “No, you’re Brother Chan’s most important brother. Good brothers for life, never changing. Now, go back by yourself, okay?”
