After Nanny Zhang entered the private room and recounted the matter, Yu Yao’s brows twitched as she listened.

“She…how dare she? That’s too arrogant!” Yu Yao exclaimed in surprise, then, remembering that Lin Feng had reversed the medication, her brows furrowed again. “Sister An, what if we are exposed for doing this? If Madam of Xu dies from it, will we not be thrown in jail?”

An Zhi chuckled, her delicate eyebrows arching slightly, her beautiful eyes twinkling. She teased, “Sister Yu, we did not do anything.”

Yu Yao gasped, still puzzled.

An Zhi had Binglu take Yue’er aside to play, then sat next to Yu Yao. “Lin Feng said it was just some embarrassing laxatives, nothing that’ll kill anyone. Besides, Madam of Xu herself administered the medicine, and they bribed the cook. As for why they were the ones who fell for it, how can they blame us? “Sister An, where are you going?” Yu Yao asked.

The old woman guarding the entrance had a fierce look on her face. Seeing An Zhi came to see her again, she smirked smugly. “Just wait,” she said, turning and going into the private room.

After watching the old woman go in, Yu Yao whispered to An Zhi, “Madam of Xu will not see us, will she?” She was a little nervous.

Madam of Wang quickly pinched her nose. “Who fell into the chamber pot? Why does it stink so badly?”

Upon closer inspection, she saw Madam of Xu squatting there, and on the floor… was a mess that defied description.

An Zhi, who was following behind Madam of Wang, saw Madam of Xu inside and quickly pinched her nose and backed away.

Madam of Wang rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things. But upon confirming it was Madam of Xu, she could not help but smile, taking a large step back and pointing at Madam of Xu, saying, “You… hahaha!”
