Exclusive Possession – CH 002
by MTL TranslationChapter 2. Role-Playing
When I woke up again, I was in my bed at home, and my phone showed that it was noon the next day.
Sunlight streamed in through the window, and the quiet dust motes danced in my vision. Looking at the familiar and cozy room, I felt as if it were all a bizarre, fantastical dream.
I sat up, pulling back the covers. The damp discomfort from last night was gone, and the swelling and pain were gone too, but the lingering feeling of being tightly filled lingered. The most marks were on my chest and inner thighs, a dense mass of blue and red. Looking at these hickeys, I felt as if I were looking at another woman’s body—so full, so decadent, so unfamiliar.
I stared blankly for a full four hours, then took a two-hour shower. After getting dressed, I went downstairs and bought emergency medication at the nearest pharmacy.
For the next few days, I didn’t go out or go to school, and I ate instant noodles every day, or nothing at all.
I spent most of my time spacing out and then sleeping.
My parents passed away when I was five. I just left my grandma three months ago to come here to study at university, and I was living in the house my parents left me. I couldn’t ask my Grandma: ‘What should an eighteen-year-old girl do after being raped? And the one who raped me was an alien with a spaceship and robots.’
I became a bit neurasthenic, always feeling like I was being watched, whether I was eating, sleeping, or taking a shower… Whenever I suddenly turned around, there was nothing behind me, and I was still terrified.
I knew this was wrong, and I knew life had to go on. But I just didn’t really want to face anyone or face life.
The turning point came five days later.

I still remembered it clearly. It was a little past eight o’clock at night. Moonlight streamed in from the balcony, and the leaves rustled in the wind. I was curled up in a corner of the room, lost in thought, when suddenly the telephone rang.
It was my maternal grandma.
“Yaoyao, are you alright?” Her kind voice seemed to be right next to my ear. “Why didn’t you call Grandma this week…?”
I choked up instantly.
“I’m sorry, I forgot,” I said it slowly and deliberately so she wouldn’t notice anything amiss.
I wanted to laugh, but my throat was so tight I couldn’t.
My grandma’s hearing had been failing for a long time, and she probably couldn’t hear what I was saying at all, but she still asked very, very gently, “Child, is it… something that has upset you?”
I thought I was numb. But her words were like a gentle hand, softly soothing my heart. I suddenly felt incredibly wronged and burst into tears. I tried to grit my teeth and hold back—how could I cry in front of my grandma and worry her? But the tears wouldn’t stop; all the bitterness I’d held back for so many days finally came out.
“Grandma, it’s okay,” I sobbed. “I just miss you, I miss you so much. I want to go home.”
That night, we cried for a long time on the phone, separated by thousands of miles. My grandma cried as she told me that she was doing well in the nursing home and was happy every day and that I should be strong and live a good life. I gripped the receiver tightly, repeating to myself over and over that I couldn’t be so dejected and decadent anymore, that I couldn’t stay trapped in that nightmarish night.
No, I couldn’t let my only family member down. I was an adult now; it was my responsibility to take care of my grandma, not to make her worry about me.
On this chilly autumn night, my heart strangely calmed down, as if all the murky and gloomy emotions had been wiped away by my grandma’s gentle voice. I felt that I was no longer sad, not at all.
The next day, I got up early, dressed neatly, and refreshed before going to class. For the next four years of university, everything went smoothly, and I was hired by my dream company after graduation. If I had to pinpoint the impact of that experience, it was twofold: first, I seemed to have developed a mild case of neurasthenia, always feeling like someone was watching me; second, I never had a boyfriend.
The soldiers the man promised to leave to protect me never appeared.
Last weekend I took a vacation and went back to my hometown to spend several days with my grandma, secretly leaving all my money for her; I visited every relative and asked them to take good care of her.
Then I returned to the city alone.
The day finally arrived. I was a little nervous, but not afraid at all. Because I had already made up my mind that no matter what happened in the future, I would do my best to live a better life.
It was Saturday, and I spent the whole day wandering around the bustling Zhongguancun. I guessed he wouldn’t show up during the day—because he had been to Earth before, but didn’t alert the authorities, which meant he didn’t want to be discovered.
But as night slowly fell and the crowds thinned out, I knew things were about to get bad. He could kidnap me from any dark corner without alerting anyone.
So I decided to stand on the rooftop. That way, everyone could see me—unless they decided to reveal their whereabouts, they couldn’t make me disappear into thin air.
Of course, in the event of an attack, my distance from the ground would help to minimize the chance of injuring innocent bystanders.
I glanced down at my watch again; it was 11:40 p.m.
The final, fateful 20 minutes.
Maybe he was a predator, currently on Mars having sex with some female monster, and had completely forgotten about me! Thinking this, I felt relieved again.
A large crowd had already gathered on the ground. About ten meters behind me, two building security guards stood, and they spent a full 20 minutes trying to persuade me. I felt very apologetic and repeatedly assured them that I wouldn’t jump, but they were still very anxious.
At that moment, a security guard answered the phone and said, sounding somewhat pleased, “The police are on their way! Miss, please don’t act rashly!”
I didn’t pay much attention and continued to anxiously wait for time to slowly pass.
After a while, hurried footsteps echoed in the hallway, and two tall policemen leaned out onto the roof. The slightly shorter one looked in my direction and said to the security guard, “You two go down first; leave this to us.” His voice sounded familiar, but I couldn’t remember where I’d heard it before.
The security guard was more than happy to oblige and left immediately.
The policeman closed the small door leading to the rooftop and then stood motionless in the doorway. I thought he was probably worried that unauthorized people might come up.
The tall policeman stepped forward, stared at me, and didn’t say anything.
“Officer, I’m sorry to have troubled you,” I said to him. “Please don’t come any closer.”
The moonlight, like a light mist, spilled onto the dimly lit rooftop. Compared to the security guard’s panic and anxiety, the policeman appeared much calmer. He stood there quietly, hands in his pockets, in a relaxed and casual posture, yet his figure was remarkably sharp and upright. His wide-brimmed hat was pulled low, and from my vantage point, I couldn’t see his face at all. I sensed he was quite young, but he seemed to be the more senior of the two policemen.
At that moment, the policeman guarding the gate suddenly spoke up: “Miss, please don’t jump. If you really jump, I will lose my job.”
I knew he was telling the truth, and maybe I should reassure him. So I said softly, “Don’t worry, I won’t commit suicide. You see, I don’t look like I’m going to kill myself, right? I even brought some late-night snacks…” I pointed to the bread at my feet, which made it more convincing.
“I’ll stay a little longer; I’ll come down after midnight. But please leave immediately, because I get nervous when I see you, and I might fall down if my legs give way,” I said. I said this because it wasn’t safe here, and I didn’t want two innocent police officers to get involved.
No sooner had I finished speaking than the tall policeman suddenly walked towards me without warning.
I immediately stopped him: “Don’t come any closer! I’ll really jump!”
He completely ignored me and walked all the way to the edge of the rooftop, very close to me.
I simply clung to the iron railing beside me and ignored him; he couldn’t very well drag me down. I felt a pang of sadness, realizing I was using such a dangerous method to resist alien abduction, yet no one would believe or understand.
“Commander, time is running out,” a policeman guarding the rooftop entrance suddenly said.
I remained unmoved.
A few seconds later, it suddenly dawned on me—
Commander? Time is running out?
A chill ran down my spine. I raised my stiff neck to look, and the policeman in the distance also looked up. I couldn’t see his face clearly, but I noticed that his eye sockets weren’t completely black. Instead, they were two round, pure red, translucent crystals, gleaming eerily bright in the night. Normally, I would have thought someone was playing a prank with flashing glasses. But now…
I suddenly remembered where I had heard his voice before.
“She’s wonderful…she’s still a virgin…a pleasant first night…”
Those weren’t human pupils at all; they belonged to the robot captain.
He disguised himself as a human.
Could the policeman next to me be…?
My ankle suddenly tightened; someone had grabbed it.
I felt as heavy as if my whole body were filled with lead. I looked down with difficulty, and, sure enough, I saw a slender hand wearing a snow-white glove, tightly gripping my ankle. The brim of his hat obscured his face, and a familiar, deep voice flowed like water in the eerie night:
“It’s me, your fiancé.”
Hearing his voice gave me goosebumps all over; I never expected him to call himself his fiancé.
The warmth and softness of his palm against my ankle made me extremely uncomfortable, and all I wanted was to get rid of him. So, reflexively, I raised my leg and kicked him hard.
He probably didn’t expect me to attack, and he took a solid kick. He turned his head and covered his face with one hand, but his other hand still held my ankle tightly.
Seeing him cover his face and remain silent, I felt a chill run down my spine. But the more afraid I became, the more I wanted to resist. Just as I was about to kick him again, a familiar warm current surged from his palm, instantly coursing through my entire body, and I lost consciousness once more.
**
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself in an unfamiliar room.
A soft lamp hung by the bedside, offering a clear view of the room. The walls and floors were made of the same dark gray metal, appearing both hard and resilient. Besides the double bed, there was a sofa, a table, a wardrobe, and even a large bathtub. The materials were all exquisite, yet nothing seemed out of place.
I sat up and suddenly felt that something was wrong.
Looking down, I realized I was wearing a pale pink satin dress. The white buttons went all the way up to my neck, the bodice was very tight, the waist was high, and the dress was embroidered with intricate patterns I had never seen before. The lace hem reached my knees, and two ribbons hung down behind me. I touched it and found a bow tied at the waist.
This girlish dress made me feel really bad—I felt like I was being dressed up like a gift, or a pet.
The room was quiet. Frustrated, I walked to the window, wanting to see where I was locked up. Through the dark red curtains, it was probably already evening outside.
I drew back the curtains, and then… I was stunned!
The inky night sky enveloped my vision like a soft, thick velvet, covered with dazzling starlight. I saw a perfectly round red fireball burning outside the window; I saw two incredibly bright stars in the distance, rapidly entwining and rotating. I saw galaxies, one after another, emitting colorful halos, constantly receding into the distance; I saw everything boundless and endless.
I was not on Earth; I was in space.
