Exclusive Possession – CH 028
by MTL TranslationChapter 28.
When we finished eating, the restaurant was packed. Everywhere I looked, there were dark figures moving about. There were people of different races and some female soldiers, but most were young, strong men. As we walked out, many people glanced at us, and I could feel many people staring at me.
I glanced at Mu Xian; his eyes were slightly lowered, his expression indifferent. Noticing my gaze, he also glanced at me, his eyes undoubtedly gloomy with a hint of ruthlessness, though hidden beneath his bland expression and long, thick eyelashes.
Knowing him as I do, being in a room with hundreds of males had definitely crossed his line—he did not even let other men set foot on the spaceship I was on. But he seems almost normal. I must say, his self-control and sense of the bigger picture were quite good, and his possessiveness was very strong.
As soon as we reached the entrance, the orc who had called us to the restaurant earlier greeted us and pointed out the location of the dormitory. Watching his retreating figure, I could not help but mutter, “Was not that guy a little too helpful?”
Mu Xian suddenly seemed lost in thought, slowly turning his head to look at me. After a moment of silence, he replied calmly, “He is not being enthusiastic; he is keeping an eye on us.”
I was taken aback, but Mu Xian had already put his arm around me and walked quickly forward. Only when we reached a deserted corner did he whisper, “They will get the data from headquarters within about 24 hours and complete a second verification of our identities.”
I was taken aback—meaning we’d be exposed? So the orc officer would be monitoring us until then?
Why was Mu Xian still so calm?
He stared at me, seemingly lost in thought. He looked me up and down, then his gaze settled on my face. He simply said, “Let’s go.”
I was filled with doubt, not knowing what he was thinking, but I could feel the hand around my waist tightening around my waist.
The narrow corridor was dimly lit, and starlight outside the window sprinkled like snowflakes, making the night feel fresh and clean. We passed by cabin doors one after another, finally stopping in front of a slightly ajar door. A sliver of yellow light shone out, and we could faintly hear people talking inside. Mu Xian had one arm around me and the other gripping the doorknob tightly. He stood there silently for a full few minutes before finally opening the door.
Soft light shone in from inside, and I saw that Mu Xian’s face had returned to calm, even showing a smile, making him appear handsome and gentle. The voices around me became noisy the moment the door opened, then suddenly fell silent. I followed Mu Xian’s gaze and froze.
The cabin was deep and narrow, with two rows of bunk beds extending in sequence. As far as the eye could see, young men were sitting or standing on the edge of the beds. Some wore only military vests, while others were shirtless, their muscular arms, bronze chests, and even long, dark legs on full display. I smelled a chaotic and unpleasant odor in the air: tobacco, men’s sweat, and even foot odor.
After a brief moment of awkwardness, I suddenly understood.
I’d vaguely heard Mop mention before that male and female pilots always lived together on the space fortress. The orc who arranged our accommodation was naturally in the pilot’s quarters.
Mu Xian’s strange expression just now was probably because he thought of this, right?
I suddenly felt a pang of heartache. The feeling was fleeting but very clear.
In the past, when he frequently displayed possessiveness, I would only feel helpless and indifferent. But now—sleeping in a room with more than ten men brimming with male hormones—this would have absolutely made him furious and even coldly explode in the past.
But today, he said nothing and did nothing. He just stared at me blankly, stood silently in front of the door, and then dealt with everything as if nothing had happened.
Of course I knew he was prioritizing the bigger picture. But his calmness and self-control at this moment made me feel his intense, restrained, and profound desire for me more vividly than ever before.
Suddenly, I felt a pang of heartache, a strange yet tender heartache. A slight sourness, a slight pain, yet somehow tinged with sweetness. I glanced at him; his face was handsome and serene, beautiful under the lamplight like warm, lustrous jade. That soft, jade-like hue seemed to warm my heart as well. I paused for a moment, then turned my gaze, looking ahead with the same calm as him.
Upon seeing the two of us, the men were clearly taken aback. They exchanged glances, and one of them said with a faint smile, “Which unit are you from? I’ve never seen you before.”
At this moment, Mu Xian had already pulled me inside, found an empty bed, glanced at it, but did not let me sit down. Instead, he smiled at the person who had asked the question: “I am Captain Cong’en, and this is my partner, Lieutenant Neu. We are Colonel Kedun’s men.”
The man said, “Oh,” and another, stronger, darker-skinned man said, “I heard that someone clashed with the Imperial Army today and was almost completely wiped out. Was it you?”
Mu Xian replied, “Unfortunately, it is us.”
Everyone was taken aback, then laughed. The man from before asked again, “Colonel Kedun is from my hometown, is he not?”
Mu Xian glanced at him: “You are also from Planet Weman? Your Mo’er wine tastes like pee.”
The men fell silent for a moment, then burst into laughter. The man from Viman Star nodded and smiled, “It is really hard to drink; I never drink it either.”
Another man walked over and patted Mu Xian on the shoulder. “Hey, I like this guy.” I saw that the man’s palms were rough and his fingernails were black, but Mu Xian seemed to have no reaction at all, with a smile on his face.
At that moment, I felt more eyes on me. The Viman alien asked, “Lieutenant Neu is really beautiful. Are you two a couple?”
I was a little nervous, but I felt I should not appear too reserved, so I looked up and smiled at them. The man’s smile seemed to deepen, and suddenly I felt a tightness around my waist as I felt Mu Xian’s warm breath on my face—he pulled me into his arms, nuzzled his face affectionately, and said calmly, “She is mine.” He paused and added, “I am a beastman.”
Everyone was visibly taken aback. One of them said, “That is a real pity.” The remark was somewhat provocative. Mu Xian glanced at him but remained silent.
The men ignored us and started talking amongst themselves. Some went to bed, put on eye masks and earplugs, and went to sleep. Mu Xian glanced back at the bed; it was a single bed. He said in a low voice, “Get on.” I took off my shoes and climbed on. He frowned and sat down as well.
There were curtains and a lamp by the bed, making it a secluded space. He was silent for a moment, then lay down. He was already tall, and I was immediately squeezed into a corner. Suddenly, I felt light as he picked me up and placed me on his lap.
We were almost face-to-face, our bodies pressed tightly together. His expression remained cold, and he stared intently at me.
“Sleeping face down… is not very comfortable.” I felt a little awkward.
He paused for a moment before replying, “I cannot let you lie on this bed.”
I understand now. Countless people had slept in this dorm room, which was why he held me while we slept.
I suddenly remembered how he had stood silently at the door just moments before, and my heart softened. I nodded, nestled against his chest, and listened to his steady heartbeat. My body, tense all day, involuntarily relaxed. He did not speak again but silently covered my long hair with his hand, gently stroking it. I felt a little strange, ticklish, and soft, but… it felt quite comfortable.
“Hey Captain, there are still a few empty beds. We are still at war; are you in such a hurry? Do you not think about how we feel?” someone asked from outside the curtain, followed by scattered laughter.
“Sorry,” Mu Xian’s calm voice rang out, “I am used to it.”
“Keep your movements down; do not disturb me,” the person on the top bunk yelled.
“No,” Mu Xian replied calmly. Their meaning was clear. My face flushed, and I looked at Mu Xian, only to find him looking at me as well, his brows furrowed and his eyes dark.
My heart skipped a beat. I did not think he would did anything to me; after all, this place was so “dirty”… But he usually got aroused whenever we hugged. Now, with me on top of him in this position, he’d probably be hard all night.
A sudden itch ran down my inner thigh, as if the skin there was recalling the feeling of Mu Xian’s hard object pressing against it. My body stiffened slightly, bracing myself… bracing myself for something that would suddenly swell and tremble. But after a while, it remained calm. I was a little surprised and secretly relaxed, suddenly feeling a warm current seeping into my skin.
This feeling was familiar; it was the same feeling when he bit me that day—it was his mental energy field. I looked up at him in surprise: Was he afraid someone would plot against us?
He looked at me too, his brows slightly furrowed, his lips pursed, his pale face appearing serious and cold. After a while, I felt myself enveloped in that warmth, and his brows relaxed, though his eyes remained dark.
“What is wrong?” I asked in a low, wary voice.
“It is isolated.” He stared at me. “In this mental field, it is just you and me.” He hugged me tighter and said slowly, “Only my scent, my warmth… You can sleep now.”
My heart skipped a beat; I felt a mix of amusement and a bittersweet emotion. I nestled against his chest, saying nothing more. After a while, I drifted off to sleep.
Sleeping on top of a man with hard bones was definitely not a comfortable experience. My sleep was completely fragmented, and I would wake up alertly every now and then. But each time, I would see him with a cold face, open eyes, and a gloomy expression. I could even feel all the muscles in his body tense.
He noticed I was awake but did not speak, just silently gazed at me. I also looked at him, still half-asleep. Sometimes he would kiss me, and I could not tell if I was awake or asleep. In my dreams, there was always a warm, soft sensation lingering on my lips and tongue.
When I woke up, I found myself still nestled against his chest. I looked up at him and saw him looking down at me, his eyes gentle yet…tired. I remembered that he had barely slept all night, maintaining his mental state.
He sat up, holding me in his arms, and looked down at me: “It is time to go.”
I nodded, and he pulled back the curtain. Half of the men outside were gone; the others glanced at us, and Mu Xian greeted them.
“Hey, I did not hear anything, and you are exhausted,” someone joked.
Mu Xian did not answer but led me outside. Dozens of fighter jets were already scattered around the fortress outside the window. He watched silently for a while, then his eyes became sharp and calm again.
