Chapter 53: One Sword To Break Water, Stopping a Thousand Rivers
Right now, there was only one person on Cangshan.
Snow Moon Sword Immortal, Li Hanyi.
Lei Wujie felt a jolt of shock in his heart, and he fully exerted his qi, accelerating his pace.
In the dark night, the black-masked man stopped in his steps. A dark red spider was embroidered on his chest, signifying his identity – Snow Moon City Spiderweb.
Another man in the same uniform rushed to his side and said softly, “Should we report this to Third City master?”

The man shook his head. “No need. He’s heading for Cangshan. The second city master is there.”
“But Lei Wujie is going after him. Will he be in danger?” The other person asked.
The man frowned slightly. “No. This person is only here for Second City Master. He won’t cause further trouble. He won’t kill Lei Wujie.”

“So, it’s really him?” The other person was surprised.
The man nodded. “Yes. This is his fourth visit already.”
After chasing the intruder through the city, Lei Wujie was already sweating profusely. A few times, he thought he was on the verge of catching up, but the man sped up and kept a certain distance from him. The man finally came to a stop when he reached the foot of Cangshan. He looked back at Lei Wujie, his voice deep and imposing, as he asked, “Who are you?”
Lei Wujie was stunned for a moment. He probably didn’t expect this uninvited guest to ask the question first, and he couldn’t help but feel amused. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you first?”
“I can tell you my name, but do you dare to ask for it?” In the dark night, the man’s eyes seemed to flash for a moment. Lei Wujie felt a tingling pain in his shoulder, and when he turned to look, he realized there was already a bloodstain on his clothes.
“What was that? Owl Oculus Sword?” Lei Wujie was shocked when the idea of this legendary yet peculiar sword art came to his mind. Not many people knew this sword arts, but everyone’s name would shock the world.
“Get out of my way,” the man said in a deep voice, full of regalness.
Lei Wujie shook his head. “Shifu is currently in seclusion, and he doesn’t want to be disturbed by anyone. If you really want to pay a visit, please wait for another two days. Two days later, you can come up the mountain, and I won’t stop you.”
“Oh?” The man smiled, and his eyes lit up again. This time, Lei Wujie wasn’t falling for the same trick twice. He dodged sideways and avoided the attack. The man wasn’t angered, however, and he asked, “Are you Li Hanyi’s disciple? When did Li Hanyi accept a disciple? What’s your name?”
“Lei Wujie,” Lei Wujie replied loudly.
“Lei Wujie.” The man thought for a moment and said, “I’ve heard of your name.”
Lei Wujie was overjoyed. He didn’t expect that he was not only famous in Snow Moon City but had also gained some fame outside.
“I also have a disciple. He has a really bad memory, but he remembered your name.” The man took a step forward. “But I’m in a hurry now to see Li Hanyi, and I don’t have time to deal with you. Get out of my way, and I won’t hurt you.”
Lei Wujie shook his head stubbornly. “Shifu told me not to let anyone disturb him for three days. Although I’m useless, I won’t let you through just like that.”
“Ridiculous.” The man scoffed, his figure flashed, and he had already swept behind Lei Wujie. “You think you can stop me?”
Lei Wujie spun around, exerted his Blazing Arts, and attacked with his fist.
“Lei Clan Blazing Arts and Unseen Fists. Very good.” The man flicked his sleeve lightly and completely absorbed the fist energy. “Do you have anything more powerful?”
Lei Wujie realized that he couldn’t estimate the martial arts of the man in front of him, and he didn’t dare to conceal his own skill. So, he had almost used all of his power in that instant. Over the last few days, in addition to practicing his sword-drawing technique, he would also practice a few repetitions of his Arhat Demon Subjugation Fists. He had already made some achievements because he realized that when he closed his eyes and meditated, he could gradually see the true form of the Arhat in his mind. Sometimes, he didn’t even have to think about swinging his fists. He only had to follow the true form in his mind and could execute the moves as naturally as moving clouds and flowing water.
“Arhat Fists?” The man frowned slightly.
“It’s the Arhat Demon Subjugation Divine Skill!” Lei Wujie yelled out loud and threw another fist, whipping up a gust of wind.

The man withdrew a step and jumped up to stand on top of a tree. He lowered his head to look down at Lei Wujie. “Good, worthy of the Divine Skill in its name.”
Lei Wujie channeled his qi into his fists, and his red clothes fluttered wildly.
“I will give you one sword.” The man slowly drew his sword from its scabbard. The tip of the sword was broken.
“The tip of my sword was broken by your shifu,” the man said slowly.
“Its name is Broken Water, not because it’s a broken sword, but because of eight words.” The man stroked the blade of his sword gently.
“One sword to break water, stopping a thousand rivers.” The man suddenly lowered his head, but his tone remained very regal.
“Just now, you asked for my name. Now, you should know what it is.”
Lei Wujie did not speak, but his entire body trembled slightly. “One sword to break water, stopping a thousand rivers.” Everyone in the martial world had heard of these eight words. Although the person behind these eight words was not one of the five sword immortals, he was the city master of one of the four cities under Heaven.
Unrivaled City Under Heaven, Citymaster Song Yanhui.
There were many stories about Song Yanhui. It was said that his name came about because as a youth, he once slashed a sword at the sky. That sword was so beautiful that even the migrating swallows turned their heads and flew back, circling around the lingering sword aura in the air. It was a shame that when he was born, Unrivaled City no longer carried the prestige it once had. Even with his efforts, Unrivaled City remained one of the four cities under Heaven, but compared to Snow Moon City, which had produced three outstanding talents, they were still a little short. Later, he challenged his sword against Snow Moon Sword Immortal Li Hanyi three times, and all three times ended in defeat. Hence, he was not included amongst the sword immortals. One day, the Canglan River flooded, breaching the embankment, and legends said that it was Song Yanhui who wielded his sword, forcefully stopped the floodwaters for a quarter of an hour, and saved thousands of victims. From then on, he gained the saying, “One sword to break water, stopping a thousand rivers.”
They said that Song Yanhui liked to practice his sword by the river, so all his sword names had the word “water” in them.
“This sword is named Ten Thousand Torrents and a Thousand Crags.” Song Yanhui raised his sword high and slashed down with all his strength.
Lei Wujie felt the surging sword aura like a tide, layer by layer, rolling towards him. He exerted all the qi in his body and struck with his fist.
In an instant, the two brushed past each other.

Lei Wujie fell onto his knees, vomiting a mouthful of fresh blood.
Song Yanhui was still standing, his sword still sheathed, and he sighed. “I was wrong; you are not worthy of my sword.” He turned around and slowly continued walking up the path. As he walked past Lei Wujie, suddenly, a sword blocked his path.
“Rainfall?” Song Yanhui whispered.
“I already said, Shifu told me not to let anyone disturb him. I’m not dead yet. You can’t pass.” Lei Wujie stood up, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and put his hand on the hilt of his sword.
Around the sword hilt, a dark thunder rumbled in alarm.
Lei Wujie slowly drew out his sword, and in an instant, the mountain breeze roared and the flowers and leaves danced wildly.
“I also have a sword. The sword’s name is Moonlit Night and Flowering Dawn.”
“Imparted by Sword Immortal Li Hanyi!”
