For the fourth consecutive week, we have ZHU YU (PURSUIT OF JADE) leaving everyone behind in the amount of reads. Meanwhile, our assassin leads of MO SANG and THE GREAT SONG DYNASTY FEMALE ASSASSIN (HIDDEN SHADOW) carved their way and bumped down DAYTIME LANTERN (LOVE BEYOND THE GRAVE).

In fifth place is something noteworthy. NIGHT WANDERER jumped up in reads after news of Shin Ye Eun joining Park Bogum for the KDrama adaptation of this novel, tentatively titled Night Traveler. Since we can only dream longingly at the Chinese drama adaptation with Ni Ni and Deng Lun (damn you, tax evader you), I hope this project gets green-lit soon to see the novel come to life.

All our ongoing translation made it to the Top 5. It really will take more weeks to complete these since the assassins’ journey is so very long. Let me share that these two stories are quite different from each other:
While both assassins are transmigrators from the modern world, Li Sangrou (Mo Sang) is very different from An Jiu (Hidden Shadow).
Li Sangrou is very mature with a clear idea of who she is and what she wants to accomplish. She doesn’t seem to be an assassin in the modern world, but ended in a body of one. And using the body’s muscle memory, she’s a formidable assassin. However, she doesn’t like killing and prefers to make changes here and there making a difference in women of that era.
An Jiu, on the other hand, was an assassin in the modern world and landed in an assassin family—much to her dismay. She’s also mentally instable; her blood-thirst can get triggered and run amok. This world also have wuxia elements with martial arts internal enery and mental energy, and divine physicials, among other things.
So MO SANG is more grounded and the story spans many years with the unification of the North and South as its backdrop, while THE GREAT SONG DYNASTY FEMALE ASSASSIN (HIDDEN SHADOW) is more fantastical and many things happen in a short span with a strong enemy state lurking around and an Emperor who is focused on immortality as its backdrop.

As for our hosting service, we found an “investor” (one of our translator’s sister) and managed to finally upgrade it. Although it went down for a few hours when our admin was tinkering with something, the website is now much more reliable, right? Now we can smoothly add our chapters while you can all keep reading without worrying about getting that Error 503. This should be enough unless the site suddenly grows exponentially. With our current library growth, that seems far off.
